Senior Power System Planning Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Power System Planning Engineer to join our team at Enexa Partners. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in planning the development of our power system, ensuring it is efficient and effective in meeting our renewable energy targets and demand growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement power system analysis and planning strategies to support the integration of new technologies and renewable energy sources.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify future power system needs and develop solutions to address them.
  • Apply knowledge and experience in power system modelling and simulation using PSS/E, Plexos, or DIgSILENT Power Factory.
  • Prepare papers and regulatory submissions to secure internal governance and external regulatory approval for Transmission Network Pre-construction Projects.
  • Work closely with the team to develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the power system, including electrical infrastructure development and consenting processes.

Requirements:

  • Engineering degree with typically 4+ years relevant experience and knowledge of the power system.
  • Competent in power system analysis, including steady state load flow, voltage, short circuit analysis, and transient stability.
  • Practical understanding of electrical infrastructure development, including overhead lines and cables, HV plant and apparatus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on high-quality report writing and ability to communicate technical matters clearly and effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience mentoring junior team members in power system analysis and planning.
