We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher to join our team in an SEN school in the London Borough of Bexley.
Job SummaryThis role is an exciting opportunity for a professional with a strong commitment to supporting and empowering students with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver Tailored Education
Design, adapt, and deliver lessons tailored to the unique learning needs of students with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and other complex needs.
Individualized SupportCreate and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), setting realistic but ambitious targets to support each student's development.
Collaboration with Support StaffWork closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and other support staff to ensure a holistic approach to each student's learning and personal development.
Monitoring and AssessmentRegularly assess and record student progress, adapting teaching strategies as needed, and provide feedback to parents, guardians, and the senior leadership team.
Behavior ManagementImplement and uphold the school's behavior policy, using positive reinforcement and specialized strategies to support students' emotional and social needs.
Continuous Professional DevelopmentStay informed of best practices and new SEN teaching strategies, participating in relevant training and workshops to enhance your professional skill set.
Parental EngagementMaintain positive and open communication with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on their child's progress and collaborating on goals.
Person Specification- Qualifications
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
ExperiencePrevious experience working in an SEN setting, with a track record of adapting teaching for diverse needs and demonstrating patience, creativity, and empathy.
SkillsStrong understanding of SEN teaching strategies, particularly for ASD, ADHD, and other complex needs; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; effective behavior management skills; adaptability to dynamic classroom environments.
CommitmentA genuine dedication to improving educational outcomes for students with SEN, fostering their independence and self-confidence.
