Job Title: Pastoral and Behaviour Support Assistant

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Pastoral and Behaviour Support Assistant to join our team at NextGen Teachers. As a Pastoral and Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Social and Emotional, Mental Health needs in a SEMH School located in Harrogate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students across the Primary and Secondary age range with Social and Emotional, Mental Health needs
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized support plans
  • Provide 1-2-1 support to students who require additional help and guidance
  • Assist with behaviour management and de-escalation techniques
  • Collaborate with the school team to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Minimum Level 2/3 Qualification
  • Previous professional or personal experience working with children or adults with Special Educational Needs and Mental Health
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Understanding of how to effectively manage behaviour in the classroom
