Maintenance Technician

About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking works under the guidance of the Assistant Maintenance Manager, on all aspects of building fabric repair, general maintenance for both planned and reactive maintenance. They will carry out a range of decoration, building fabric and general planned, reactive maintenance, repairs and minor new works tasks as instructed by the Estates Management.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake building fabric repair and maintenance tasks as instructed by the Estates Management
- Carry out decoration, building fabric and general planned, reactive maintenance, repairs and minor new works tasks
- Use all relevant tools and equipment when carrying out specific tasks within their capability and training
- Work under the guidance of the Assistant Maintenance Manager where appropriate
Requirements
- Recognised CITB/EITB Painter Craft Apprenticeship e.g City & Guilds
- Demonstrable experience or significant experience in a similar role within a large complex service organisation
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to accurately complete documentation and records
- Ability to attend specialised training courses as required
- Experience within a people environment
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated and ability to motivate others
- Works well as an individual and as part of a team
- Able to use own initiative in problem solving in day to day issues
- Car driver, the ability to work shifts as required
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Painting & Decoration in Healthcare sector
- Knowledge of safe working in a healthcare environment
Contract Type and Working Pattern
This is a permanent, full-time position working 37 hours per week. The working pattern for this role will be confirmed by the hiring manager.
