About the Role

Campden BRI's Sensory Testing Services play a crucial role in helping food and beverage companies create winning and quality products through our highly trained sensory panels. These panels evaluate products using a wide range of methods, providing valuable insights to inform product development and quality control.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Sensory Project Manager and the wider descriptive panel with projects and training, ensuring seamless execution and high-quality results.
  • Co-ordinate all Panel Acuity activities, ensuring timely and accurate data collection.
  • Become proficient in the use of Compusense sensory data collection software, leveraging its capabilities to drive business growth.
  • Prepare samples safely using good food hygiene practices for assessment by the Panel, maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Co-ordinate sample receipt and organise purchase, storage, and preparation of panel training and reference samples, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
  • Support the panel Leader with compilation of technical reports, including data analysis, to inform business decisions.
  • Support other Sensory Insights teams/projects as required, contributing to the overall success of Campden BRI.

Requirements

  • Degree in Food Science/Technology or previous experience within a sensory science role and/or laboratory environment.
  • Completion of the 'One Day Introduction to Sensory Analysis' course and '4 Day Sensory Evaluation Workshop' or equivalents, demonstrating a strong foundation in sensory science.
  • Broad knowledge of multiple food categories, with a deep understanding of consumer preferences and trends.
  • Excellent organisational, practical, and panel facilitation skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Good people skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to create high-quality reports and presentations.
