Job Description

This Senior Quantity Surveyor (MEP) position is available with a leading MEP contractor in Exeter, UK. The role offers an excellent salary range of £55,000 - £70,000 per annum, plus a company car or car allowance.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience working as a Surveyor or Senior Surveyor, preferably within the MEP industry. A good understanding of standard forms of contract and ability to negotiate with clients/sub-contractors are essential skills for this position.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing regular contractual and financial information to monitor project objectives, assisting with sub-contract document vetting, and maximizing financial returns. The role requires 3 days on-site in Exeter and the remaining 2 days can be worked from home or the office.

Duties:
  • Vet and negotiate sub-contract documentation to achieve the best deal for the company.
  • Assist project contract engineers in preparing sub-sub-contractor enquiry documents and collate sub-sub-contract documents.
  • Provide advice on suppliers/sub-sub-contractors quotations and obtain written agreement on final accounts.
  • Prepare final accounts and analyze sub-contract tenders for valuation applications.
  • Monitor project performance against cost/value and make recommendations.
Requirements:
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Surveyor or Senior Surveyor in the MEP industry.
  • Good knowledge of standard forms of contract.
  • Ability to negotiate with clients/sub-contractors and draft sub-contracts.
  • Produce accurate monthly cost and value reports and outturn financial forecasts.
