Operations Planning Specialist

As a Maintenance Planner at First Choice Staff, you will be responsible for providing maintenance planning support to the engineering team. This will involve raising Purchase Orders for materials, service, and contracts, maintaining the company's quality management system, and administering maintenance software programmes. You will also communicate with contractors and suppliers, identify critical engineering spares, and work with the Engineering Team to ensure cost-effective spare parts are sourced.
Main Responsibilities:
• Supplying and controlling engineering documents (SOPs, Risk Assessments)
• Raising Purchase Orders for materials, services, and contracts
• Maintaining the quality management system
• Administering maintenance software programmes
• Communicating with contractors and suppliers
• Identifying and maintaining critical engineering spares
• Ensuring cost-effective spare parts are sourced
• Providing feedback on unusual movement or high consumption of spares
• Completing and processing Purchase Order requisition forms
• Recording Deliveries coming into the engineering department
• Liaising with internal stakeholders to agree work activity
• Logging work sheets and generating reports
• Logging Engineering Team holidays
• Informing management of delivery obstacles
• Primary plant control for technical support enquiries
• Point of contact for all technical enquiries
• Managing engineering projects from start to finish
• Preparing reports and presentations
• Coordinating meetings and events
• Maintaining technical communication
• Providing administrative support to the engineering department.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a GCSE or level 3 or equivalent qualification in maintenance or technical. A minimum of 3 years' experience in a technical/engineering support role is highly advantageous. The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and data is essential, as is having good analytical skills and being detail-oriented. Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and AutoCAD, are required. Experience of using CMMS systems is also desirable. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are necessary, as is the ability to work well under time constraints in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Estimated Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum.
