About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Team Educate Ltd. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to provide individualised support for pupils with autism spectrum condition and anxiety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils in lessons and during activities.
  • Assist in developing tailored learning plans, focusing on emotional regulation, social skills, and academic development.
  • Support the management of anxiety and sensory sensitivities using positive strategies.
  • Help to maintain a structured, calming environment that encourages independence and confidence.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to monitor progress and provide consistent support.
  • Promote inclusion and positive behaviour in line with the school's ethos.
  • Help pupils navigate their daily routines and adapt to changes with minimal stress.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with autism.
  • Patience, empathy, and a deep understanding of autism spectrum conditions.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of sensory processing difficulties and emotional regulation strategies is desirable.
