Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mammographer to join our Breast Imaging team at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHSFT. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for undertaking screening and symptomatic mammograms to the highest standards, ensuring compliance with the National Health Service Breast Screening Programme (NHSBSP).

Main Responsibilities
  1. To perform high-quality mammograms, including those required during Interventional Breast Imaging, and maintain accurate records.
  2. To assist in the training, supervising, and mentoring of Post Graduate Radiographers undertaking the Award in Mammography.
  3. To participate in the departmental Quality Assurance Programme, ensuring adherence to established protocols and standards.
  4. To work collaboratively with the Breast Care Unit team, providing excellent patient care and contributing to a positive work environment.
Requirements
  • BSc (Radiography) or The Diploma of the College of Radiographers.
  • Current Full UK driving licence.
  • Evidence of appropriate participation in Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
  • Post Graduate/Post Registration Certificate of Competence in Mammography or willingness to gain this qualification.
Working Environment

The successful candidate will be based in the Breast Care Unit and will work on the mobile unit, located at one of five sites in the West Norfolk and Wisbech area. This role is exempt from the provisions of Section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, by virtue of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1973 (Exemption) Order 1975.
