Executive Chef

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef to join our team at Marne Barracks, Catterick Garrison. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading a small team of chefs and FOH staff, managing staff rotas, and ensuring the highest standards of food preparation and service.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and serve food to the highest standard, managing production and food levels to minimize wastage.
- Organize and support your team to ensure a smooth operation daily, including monthly stock counts and brand standard audits.
- Produce food in line with recipe sheets, with full knowledge of all menu items served.
- Support the effective delivery of special functions or events, ensuring high-quality service to mess members and military personnel.
- Manage staff training and development, including coaching new team members on procedures and standards.
- Assist in daily and weekly kitchen deep cleans, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
- Previous experience in catering and/or Mess operational roles, with effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge/qualification in Health & Safety and Food Safety, with a good working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- One of the following qualifications or equivalent: BSC (Catering), MHCIM, HND, City and Guild 706/1 and 2, NVQ level 2 and 3.
