About the Role

The primary function of this position is to provide site-based support to the Project Manager, focusing on the principles of monitoring, inspecting, and recording.

The Project Manager requires all project parties and their representatives to work collaboratively to deliver a successful project.

This role will support the Project Manager and the project parties to meet high standards of safety, wellbeing, quality, program, and commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively support project contractors to achieve adherence to health, safety, welfare, and environmental requirements.

  • Provide the first point of contact for project stakeholders, including project advisors and Landowners, Tenants, and Neighbors.

  • Identify risks and opportunities relating to project outcomes and notify such to the Project Manager.

  • Feedback on lessons learned during construction, including key supplier performance.

  • Escalate any issues requiring attention by the Project Manager.

  • Issue instructions to contractors or consultants on-site on behalf of the SPV, except where such decisions are required to be made immediately in the interests of preserving health and safety.

Monitoring and Inspections

  • Attend the site to ensure all duties specified under your appointment are fulfilled.

  • Assist in the review of contractor document submissions.

  • Monitor and ensure health and safety compliance by all parties and persons on-site.

  • Undertake health, safety, welfare, and environmental inspections.

  • Participate in contractor-led initiatives, such as TBTs, Safety Stand-downs, Emergency Response Planning simulations.

  • Monitor and report on the project's contractors and their subcontractors' compliance with the designs for the project, and compliance with their contracts.

  • Monitor the day-to-day interface of the project's contractors and their subcontractors.

  • Monitor and inspect the quality of items delivered to the site as much as reasonably possible.

Testing

  • Inspections, witnessing of tests, and commissioning being carried out in relation to parts of and/or the whole of the project.

  • Ensure that testing and commissioning are carried out as required by and in accordance with the contracts.

Milestones and Invoicing

  • Assist in the assessment of commercial/payment applications from project suppliers.

Requirements

  • Experience and knowledge delivering a similar role on utility scale projects.

  • Relevant safety qualifications, such as SMSTS, CSCS, IOSH, and relevant engineering discipline qualification.

  • Flexibility to work additional hours as may be requested.

  • Ability to work remotely.
