Job Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for maintaining the educational facilities and wider academy with wide-ranging duties including cleaning and repair work. The successful candidate will have previous experience of caretaking or site management and ideally worked in a similar educational facility as part of a facilities team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining academy safety and security precautions
  • PPM and maintenance repairs (e.g. fire alarm/emergency lighting tests, temperature checks, minor plumbing, door/floor/ceiling maintenance etc)
  • Regular site walks, risk assessments and HSE audits
  • Removing refuse bags, litter picking and cleaning of communal internal / external areas
  • Supporting with movement of furniture, supplies, deliveries when necessary
  • Maintain safe conditions and safe working practices within all the facilities.

Requirements

  • Previous caretaking experience
  • Physically fit
  • Relish the opportunity to work in a student environment and deal with the issues that brings
  • Health and Safety awareness & knowledge of COSHH
  • IT literacy skills and the ability to use mobile/hand-held device for emails
