Job Summary:

Yorkshire Premier Meats is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Despatch Supervisor to join our team at our South Kirkby site. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing the PM shift and ensuring the efficient despatch of all finished goods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stock Management: Oversee the segregation of stock in the output fridge and ensure that all products are properly labeled and stored.
  • Blast Chiller Management: Manage the blast chiller and ensure that it is properly maintained and calibrated.
  • Product Scanning: Scan products into the blast chiller and print production hold plans as required.
  • Picking and Packing: Pick and pack finished goods for despatch and ensure that all products are properly packaged and labeled.
  • Output Line Control: Control the output lines and ensure that they are running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Team Management: Oversee the output staff and provide training and guidance as needed.
  • Quality Control: Work with the Production Manager to ensure that all products meet quality standards.
  • Holiday Cover: Provide holiday cover for the Despatch Senior Supervisor as needed.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure that all employees are aware of and comply with health and safety procedures and report any incidents or near misses.
  • Personal Protective Equipment: Ensure that all employees are properly trained on the use and maintenance of personal protective equipment.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience of working in a distribution environment and managing a team.
  • Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and computer literacy, as well as experience of using a Warehouse Management system.
  • Education: GCSE level Math's and English.
  • Personal Qualities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, resolve issues quickly, and build great working relationships.
