Senior Ecologist

We are seeking an experienced Ecologist/Ornithologist to join our expanding environmental team at Canavan Associates Ltd. in Derry/Londonderry.

• Conduct and manage ecological and ornithological surveys, including avian impact assessments and data collation.
• Provide expert advice and detailed reports to support development projects, including Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs).
• Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and project teams to deliver projects efficiently and within deadlines.
• Stay up-to-date with current legislation and best practices, and engage with project stakeholders to establish site-specific scope of work.
• Undertake a range of breeding and wintering bird surveys, including species-specific and general surveys according to Best Practice Guidance and agreed methodology.

• Hold a bachelor's degree in ecology, ornithology, environmental science, biology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of one to three years of practical experience in conducting Ecological Surveys and Environmental Impact Assessments.
• Full clean driver's license and access to a vehicle.
