The Position

We are looking to recruit a Team Leader within our Laboratory on a permanent contract. This role will be based at the Cockermouth Manufacturing Business Unit in Cumbria.

Key Responsibilities
  • Testing of incoming fabrics, other bought in items as appropriate and incoming raw materials to changing business needs.
  • Appropriate use of generated data to review ongoing statistical capability, analysis of trends and provision of statistical data to allow effective specification updates.
  • Provide support to failure analysis testing and project work as appropriate.
  • Drive and enforce all health and safety initiatives and ensure full training is provided and the highest standards of housekeeping are in place at all times in all areas.
  • Co-ordinate departmental workload/resources and ensure standards of timekeeping and attendance within the team are maintained in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Absence management and performance management in line with Company policies and procedures.
  • Actively support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure all employees within the team have regular feedback on progress and performance in their role and training. Give praise and recognition and handle poor performance/discipline in line with Company policy.
  • Monitor and record all TIL and holiday requests.
Requirements
  • Excellent problem solving, planning and organisational skills.
  • IT Literate (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) and use of manufacturing systems e.g. Oracle.
