Job Overview

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for improving outcomes for children and young people with SEND, developing subject knowledge and expertise across all Island schools, and supporting colleagues to be the best they can be.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a brand new School Improvement service within the Children's Services Directorate at the Isle of Wight Council. You will have the chance to work collaboratively with different professionals, develop your skills and expertise, and contribute to the transformation of education on the Island.

Key Responsibilities

  • Improve outcomes for children and young people with SEND
  • Develop subject knowledge and expertise across all Island schools
  • Support and develop colleagues to be the best they can be
  • Offer training, guidance, and support

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a qualified teacher with subject leadership experience, able to work as part of a team, and have high-quality verbal and written communication skills. You will also need to be committed to ensuring children and young people across the Isle of Wight achieve their best outcomes and develop into independent adults.
