Crane Fitter Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Crane Fitter to join our team at Gray's depot. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Mechanical Fitting, Crane operation, and working with Hydraulic, Pneumatic, and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular services, maintenance, inspections, and repairs on the fleet of cranes, including mobile, tower, and crawler cranes.
  • Diagnose faults and implement corrective measures on the fleet of cranes.
  • Perform routine checks and scheduled maintenance to prevent breakdowns and ensure longevity of equipment.
  • Work alongside the operations team to coordinate maintenance schedules and minimize downtime.
  • Ensure all safety regulations and company policies are adhered to.
  • Keep accurate records of work carried out and parts utilized.
  • Provide technical support and advice to the team and clients when required.
  • Take part in continuous training and development to keep up with industry standards and technological advancements.
  • Occasional need to travel to site in the event of a break down.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications such as an NVQ Level 3 in Plant/Heavy Vehicles Maintenance or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as a Crane Fitter, Plant Mechanic, or a similar role.
  • Previous knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Familiarity in working in line with health and safety standards.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • A valid UK driving licence.
  • CPCS Card Holder or equivalent would be desirable.
  • Welding and fabrication skills desirable.
  • Within a commutable distance of Grays.
Remuneration:

£18.00+ an hour depending on experience. 40 Hour working week (Monday-Friday 8:30-4:30). Overtime available. 31 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays. Pension.
