Job Title: Automation Technician

Company: Kindeva Drug Delivery

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Automation Technician to join our team. As an Automation Technician, you will be responsible for setting up and maintaining automated valve and can assembly machinery, manufacturing and maintaining tooling and spares, and ensuring that production targets are met while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Work Safely: Work safely in line with behavioural safety policies and ensure a safe working environment.
  2. Maintenance and Refurbishment: Carry out maintenance and refurbishment of automated assembly equipment and rectify machine breakdowns.
  3. Manual Machining: Be competent in using manual machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, surface, cylindrical, and internal grinding machines.
  4. Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks in accordance with the asset care (planned maintenance) programme set out for each individual machine.
  5. Diagnostic Tools: Use and develop appropriate diagnostic tools and procedures to assist in resolving machine problems and ensure process checks are completed to required standards.
  6. Communication: Communicate with colleagues and team leaders at shift handover to ensure any problems are left with full detailed explanations.
  7. Continuous Improvement: Contribute, initiate, and support continuous improvement programmes, working with consideration to OEE targets and KPIs.

Requirements:

  1. Experience: Experience with mechanical maintenance, manual machining, hand fitting, and metrology equipment is essential. Experience with pneumatics and automated assembly is preferred but not essential.
  2. Qualifications: Time served Toolmaker/Mechanical Engineer. City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (ONC, HNC, etc.). GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths.
  3. Computer Literacy: Computer literate in Word and Excel desirable.
