About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Assessment Assurance Lead to join our team at the NHS Business Services Authority. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality medical assessments that meet the required standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert guidance and support to the VDPS administrative team to ensure effective processes are designed and implemented.
  • Deliver training to internal teams and third-party medical assessors on medical assessment processes and procedures.
  • Support the appeals and tribunals process, including preparation of materials and witness statements.
  • Ensure complex cases are identified and managed in a timely manner.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to internal and external stakeholders on medical assessment matters.
Requirements
  • Medical graduate with a license to practice and extensive post-graduate experience.
  • Demonstrable experience of injury assessment for the purpose of informing a decision to make financial awards under legislation.
  • Significant experience of assessment of claims under the Vaccine Damage Payments Scheme or similar.
  • Ability to critically evaluate evidence and analyze complex clinical and policy information.
