Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at Southlands School in Lymington, Hampshire. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of our students with high-functioning ASD/Asperger's.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers with lesson planning and delivery, providing individualized support to students as needed.
  • Work one-to-one with students or in small groups, promoting social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Participate in activities during breaks and lunchtimes, fostering a positive and inclusive school environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans.
  • Contribute to the development of a curriculum that meets the needs of students with high-functioning ASD/Asperger's.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs, particularly those with high-functioning ASD/Asperger's.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
  • Relevant qualifications or experience in education or a related field.
