Job Title: Minerals Commodity Analyst Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Minerals Commodity Analyst to join our team at AgSo IT Solutions. As a specialist in this field, you will be responsible for providing high-quality analysis and intelligence on global and UK minerals markets.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of mineral markets, including consumption, production, supply, and demand factors, commodity price drivers, finance, investment, and sustainability considerations. They will also have the ability to acquire, manipulate, organise, synthesise, and analyse complex data/information on mineral commodities and their markets from a variety of sources to draw inferences and present them in a range of formats.

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a key role in the UK Critical Minerals Intelligence Centre (CMIC), working with a small team of experts on data compilation, intelligence gathering, and analysis. The CMIC supports the UK in securing the adequate and timely supply of the minerals and metals it requires to ensure the success of the net zero transition, mitigate risks to national security, deliver economic prosperity, and create opportunities for UK businesses in critical mineral supply chains domestically and internationally.

As a Minerals Commodity Analyst Specialist, you will contribute to the development of new research ideas and funding opportunities, establish partnerships with other parts of BGS, academia, and industry, and answer enquiries related to our minerals commodity data and analysis. You will also engage with external stakeholders and have a desire for a varied research career relating to mining and minerals, with an emphasis on understanding the security and sustainability of mineral supply.

Salary: £41,344 - £45,479 per annum (dependent on skills and experience). Benefits include an outstanding pension scheme, 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays, and flexible working options.
