Stacatruc is seeking an experienced Heavy Machinery Technician to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and modifying our material handling equipment to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical and mechanical engineering, with experience in heavy goods/plant machinery/automotive. You will also need a City and Guilds in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, diagnostic computer skills, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components, including hydraulic valves and rams, final drive and gearbox components, and engines and components.
  • Servicing and maintenance of gas, diesel, and electric powered forklift trucks, including checking brakes, lifting assembly, and steering in working order, changing oil and filters as necessary, and thorough examinations pending qualifications.
  • Carry out overhaul of forklift trucks, including completing partial strip-down, preparing, steam cleaning or painting the chassis, and bolting or welding on ancillaries.
  • Conduct regular battery maintenance checks, including checking voltages and fluid levels of forklift trucks.
  • Prepare new and used equipment for use, including preparation of gas, diesel, and electric forklift trucks by performing pre-delivery inspections and overseeing the dispatch and receipt of trucks.
  • Maintain accurate records of work carried out, including weekly time-sheets, completing PDA on a daily basis, and liaising with the Service Controller or Transport team.

A competitive salary of £45,000 per annum is on offer, along with a range of benefits including 23 days annual leave, free on-site parking, and a pension scheme with Legal & General.
