About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Consultant Gastroenterologist to join our team at the NHS. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading clinical teams, and contributing to the development of innovative services to meet the needs of patients with gastrointestinal diseases.

The successful candidate will have a strong interest in hepatology and will be expected to work collaboratively with our team of 12 Consultant Gastroenterologists across three sites. You will be responsible for outpatient and endoscopy lists, as well as supporting inpatient care, and will be a key participant on the GI bleed rota.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care, leading clinical teams and contributing to the development of innovative services
  • Work collaboratively with our team of Consultant Gastroenterologists across three sites
  • Responsible for outpatient and endoscopy lists, as well as supporting inpatient care
  • Key participant on the GI bleed rota
Person Specification
  • Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice
  • MRCP or equivalent
  • On the GMC Specialist Register for Gastroenterology (including via CESR/European Community Rights) or will have a CCT/CESR(CP) date within 6 months of interview
  • Relevant Higher Degree e.g. MD; PhD; MSc
  • CCT in Hepatology or Liver Transplant centre experience
