We are seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Lead to join our team at Daikin Applied. As a Data Governance Lead, you will play a critical role in establishing and maintaining data governance policies and procedures across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish subject matter expertise for business customers and technical resources, maintaining awareness of business process and technology solution best practices within a specific business segment or multiple business segments.
  • Facilitate the collection, development, and implementation of data governance policies and procedures, ensuring they are aligned with business objectives and are not overly bureaucratic.
  • Lead the collection and analysis of possible project engagements, documenting project scope, prioritization, cost/benefit, potential risks, and feasibility.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive business and technical knowledge in master data management (MDM) to lead activities with the appropriate level of customer engagement to ensure that customer interests are represented in all testing stages.
  • Conduct the production and review of user guides, training classes, and other end-user documentation for a data catalog and data dictionary, providing clear definitions and standards for data use.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure data governance practices are understood and followed, alerting IT leadership when traceability appears weak or is lost, and recommending a remedy.
  • Lead the development of a self-service analytics environment, promoting best practices and data literacy.
  • Oversee data quality assurance (DQA) initiatives, ensuring data is accurate and reliable.
  • Forge a network of beneficial relationships with all levels, emphasizing management, within IT organizations and the customers of IT in order to establish mutual trust and provide a foundation for high-level project partnership.
  • Coordinate with the PMO and other departments to align data governance efforts with broader business goals.
  • Lead the preparation of documentation and presentations, chairs meetings, and delivers presentations while managing customer expectations at all levels, with emphasis on senior management.
  • Skillfully apply influence, negotiate, and mediate discussions needed to make progress towards achieving business goals and objectives.
  • Provide second-level support, relating to business applications and processes, and escalation support for aging unresolved issues.
  • Provide guidance to more junior team members in all aspects of data governance and business systems analyst support.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in data governance, data management, a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and 5+ years' related experience required.
