Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Teaching Support worker to join our team at a PMLD school in Colchester. The successful candidate will have previous experience of working with children with special educational needs and be able to provide a safe and supportive environment for our students.
Responsibilities:
- Delivering lessons and interventions to students with special educational needs, under the direction of the class teacher
- Providing one-to-one support to students, both in and out of the classroom
- Contributing to the development of Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) for students
- Assisting with record keeping and monitoring of students' progress
- Developing positive relationships with students, their families and other staff members
Requirements:
- Previous experience of working with children with special educational needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from the class teacher
- Patience and empathy
- A commitment to continuing professional development
Salary: £25,000 - £32,000 per annum, depending on experience.
