Estates Officer: Property Maintenance Specialist

The Estates Department at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Estates Officer to join their team in Chelsea. This is a dynamic and broad-ranging role that will expose the candidate to a wide range of estates services, including mechanical, electrical, building & energy control systems, and project management.

The Estates Officer will play a key role in supporting the department and the wider Trust in providing a comfortable, safe, and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors. They will be responsible for ensuring that the Trust's buildings and engineering systems comply with current legislation, guidance, and recommended approved codes of practice.

The ideal candidate will have a range of duties, including:

  • Providing maintenance and repairs to electrical, gas/LPG, BMS, heating, public health, sewage, hot/cold water systems, building construction, air conditioning, fire detection, fire compartmentation, medical gas system, sterilization/disinfection, patients' bed-head systems, air handling systems, access control, intruder detection, and lifts.
  • Supporting the department and the wider Trust in providing a comfortable, safe, and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Ensuring that the Trust's buildings and engineering systems comply with current legislation, guidance, and recommended approved codes of practice.

The Estates Officer will work closely with Architects, Consultants, Contractors, and staff to support and liaise with them on redevelopment or updating of departments. The ideal candidate will have specialist knowledge acquired through relevant HNC/HND/Degree course or equivalent working experience and responsibilities, underpinned by relevant C&G trade apprenticeship post-apprentice experience. Ventilation/water/lift maintenance/medical gases/sterilizers.
