Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated pharmacist to join our team as an independent prescribing clinical pharmacist working across a primary care network (PCN). This is an exciting opportunity to enhance our team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing support to general practice staff and helping to manage the repeat prescriptions system
  • Dealing with acute prescription requests and medicines reconciliation
  • Providing clinical leadership on medicines optimisation and quality improvement, and managing aspects of the quality and outcomes framework and enhanced services

The role is pivotal to improving the quality of care and operational efficiencies, requiring motivation and passion to deliver excellent service within general practice and PCNs.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • An undergraduate degree in pharmacy and registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • An independent prescribing qualification
  • Previous general practice experience and knowledge of legal, ethical, professional, and organisational policies/procedures relevant to the role
  • Strong clinical leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to apply effective clinical judgement in the prioritisation and decision-making aspects of the role

Desirable qualifications and experience include a qualified or enrolled CPPE Clinical Pharmacist Training pathway, experience in supporting common acute and long-term conditions, and knowledge and understanding of Primary Care Network arrangements.
