About the Role

The South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Respiratory Medicine Specialist to join our team as a Consultant in Respiratory Medicine. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented clinician to contribute to the development of our acute and chronic respiratory services.

Main Responsibilities

  • Participate in the management of respiratory and general medical conditions, including fibre-optic bronchoscopy and lung function testing.
  • Contribute to the development of our respiratory services, including the Respiratory Support Unit and Specialist Respiratory Physiology Laboratory.
  • Work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in teaching and training junior doctors and contribute to the development of our respiratory medicine training program.

About the Team

The Directorate of Respiratory Medicine is a dynamic and supportive team of six Consultant Physicians, working together to provide high-quality patient care. We have a range of specialist clinics, including lung cancer, pleural disease, and difficult asthma, TB, and bronchiectasis clinics, sleep and NIV clinics.

Requirements

  • Full GMC registration and MRCP (or equivalent) qualification.
  • Either already be on the Specialist Register or be within 6 months of receiving their Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at the time of interview.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
