We are seeking a highly skilled PhD Chemist to join our team at Mansell Recruitment Group.
About the Role
This is a challenging position that requires a flexible and experienced engineer to work in our R&D department.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and updating new and existing products within our portfolio.
The work will include:
Refining existing products to improve manufacturing efficiency
Creating samples of new products for clients and certification
Writing working instructions for new products and training staff
Updating old working instructions to our new format
Writing risk assessments for various processes
Reviewing and assessing processes with the ops manager and H&S manager for safety and efficiency
Testing products on machines for friction, ESD, and impact sensitivity
Audit of chemical and explosives stores on site
Burning waste products in a safe environment following our waste protocol
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must:
1. Hold a PhD in Chemistry
2. Have at least a year's experience in a commercial environment
3. Any team lead experience or experience leading a team would be advantageous
4. Be able to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels
5. Be able to troubleshoot and fix production issues
6. Experience writing documentation and working instructions for new products
