**Job Title:** Lead Nurse for Adult Protection and Mental Capacity

We are recruiting a Lead Nurse for Adult Protection and Mental Capacity to join our team at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of the Safeguarding All Age team, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of adult safeguarding services, providing specialist advice to staff, and liaising with external agencies.

The ideal candidate will have a strong advocate for the welfare, protection, and rights of adults at risk, clinical credibility, and evidence-based practice. A registered nurse or health or social care professional degree is essential, along with a minimum of 5 years post-registration experience and at least 3 years Band 6 experience in a leadership role.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the delivery of adult safeguarding services
  • Providing training on Adult Protection, Mental Capacity, and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards
  • Safeguarding supervision and staff support and training
  • Facilitating safeguarding supervision and attending court proceedings

**Requirements:

  • A registered nurse or health or social care professional degree
  • A minimum of 5 years post-registration experience
  • At least 3 years Band 6 experience in a leadership role
  • Strong working knowledge of The Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity (Amendment) Act 2019, and local, regional, and national Safeguarding agenda

**Salary:** £60,000 - £70,000 per annum, depending on experience.
