Role Overview

Premier Teachers is working with an Independent School in Gateshead who requires an English graduate to work as a paid English Instructor teaching KS3 and KS4 pupils.

This is an independent boys school with a strong and supportive management team. The school is very happy to consider graduates who have an English Language or English Literature degrees but have no teaching experience or limited experience and wish to embark on a career as an Instructor.

Key Responsibilities

As a Graduate on our Graduates into Teaching Pathway, you'll provide support to pupils in groups and on a 1:1 basis across partner secondary schools, SEN schools, and primary schools.

You'll receive mentorship and coaching from our experienced team to develop your skills as you train, with placements tailored to schools near you.

Requirements
  • Qualifications: Hold a degree in English or English Language for this role.
  • Academic Requirements: Hold/predicted a degree with a 2.2 or above.
  • GCSEs: GCSEs in Maths and English (minimum grade 4 or C).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Flexibility: Flexibility and responsiveness in a dynamic work environment.
  • Organisation: Organised and efficient approach to tasks.
  • Patient and Committed: Passion for working with young people, particularly in a secondary school setting.
  • References: Provide two referees we can contact.
  • DBS: Have a DBS form or be prepared to obtain one.
