Job Summary:

Venesky-Brown, a leading public sector organisation, is seeking a highly skilled Academic Support Specialist to join their team. As a Classroom Support worker, you will play a vital role in enabling learners to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide classroom support to learners, enabling them to access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.
  • Assess and arrange exams as required, ensuring that learners receive the support they need to succeed.
  • Monitor learner support needs and develop strategies to meet their individual requirements.
  • Organise and prioritise technical and classroom support to meet service requirements, ensuring that learners receive the best possible support.
  • Liaise with teaching staff to facilitate student learning and ensure that learners receive the support they need to succeed.
  • Support learners in the use of equipment and assistive software, enabling them to access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.
  • Provide feedback to the Access & Educational Support Team, ensuring that learners receive the support they need to succeed.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of statistics to support monitoring, review, and evaluation of the service provided by the College.
  • Encourage learners to be independent and effective within the College and the community.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience of working with people with disabilities or other support needs.
  • Computer literate, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
  • Experience of note taking.
