About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Hydro Aluminium UK Ltd as a Maintenance Engineer Apprentice (Vacancy ID: 5601). As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist and support the Maintenance team with planned preventative maintenance activities, including equipment and facilities.
  • Support the Maintenance team with Mech/Elec breakdowns and installations within production areas as required.
  • Work alongside and shadow Engineers to support daily tasks and projects.
  • Support the continuous improvement of the Maintenance team, aligning with departmental and organisational goals.
  • Support Maintenance Engineers with full diagnosis and repair of all equipment on site.
  • Follow day-to-day maintenance log sheets to log activities.
  • Assist with the execution of daily scheduled maintenance log sheets to log activities.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Be involved in Continuous Improvement activities as they arise.
  • Be aware of opportunities to reduce costs and escalate to Line Manager.
  • Participate in overtime as required.
  • Comply with all time and attendance targets.
  • Maintain high standards of individual housekeeping and 5S.
  • Assist/participate in Induction programmes for new starters.
  • Take part in annual appraisal.
  • Comply with time and attendance targets.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Working towards a HNC Technical qualification.
  • Learning how to maintain an array of production and Facilities assets and processes.
  • Some experience and knowledge of automation and robot cells, chemical process line, and CNC machining.
  • Be competent in reading and understanding Schematic drawings.
  • Good level of MS office and IT competence.
  • Willing to learn best practices from experienced Engineers.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Good work ethic and timekeeping.
