About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Railway Maintenance Specialist to join our team at EngineeringUK. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and efficiency of our rail network.

As a Network Technician, you will work outdoors in a team environment, supporting essential maintenance activities to keep the railway running smoothly for passengers and freight users.

The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience of inspection, faulting, maintenance, and renewal techniques in the discipline they are applying for. Relevant qualifications such as an NVQ Level 1 or 2 linked to the discipline are also highly desirable.

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum

What You'll Do:

  1. Maintain, inspect, and repair the track network, including rails, sleepers, and ballast, to ensure the railway remains safe and efficient
  2. Work with your team to maintain and repair equipment under the track network, focusing on joinery, lubrication, and welding skills
  3. Assist in vegetation management, drainage, and ancillary structures alongside the track network
  4. Ensure power flows through the electrified rails safely and efficiently, working on nuts, bolts, and cables of the electrification system

Requirements:

  • Technical skills: Inspection, faulting, maintenance, and renewal techniques
  • Relevant qualification: NVQ Level 1 or 2 linked to the discipline
  • Driving license (category B) required
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and adapt to changing shift patterns
