Senior Podiatrist

About the Role
As a Senior Podiatrist, you will be required to assess and treat patients within a hospital setting who require podiatry care. Your role will involve determining clinical diagnoses and providing appropriate treatment, as well as maintaining accurate records as an autonomous practitioner.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Manage your own clinical caseload, ensuring timely and effective treatment of patients.
- Maintain professional standards, adhering to policies and procedures set by the relevant authorities.
- Comply with all relevant standards, policies, and procedures, including those related to patient care and safety.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice and instruction to patients, relatives, and carers on foot care and management.
- Demonstrate highly developed dexterity, coordination, and palpatory senses for assessment and manual treatment of patients.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families to maximize rehabilitation potential and ensure understanding of condition.
- Assess capacity, gain valid informed consent, and work within a legal framework with patients who lack capacity to consent to treatment.
Professional Development
- Maintain your own clinical professional development (CPD) by staying up-to-date with new trends and developments in the field and incorporating them into your work as necessary.
- Pursue active membership of the CPD training program through attendance at presentations, training sessions, and external courses, as well as practicing reflective practice.
- Evaluate your work and current practices using evidence-based practice projects, audits, and outcome measures, with a view to improving patient care and outcomes.
