We are seeking a skilled Transportation Professional to assist with the appointment of a Passenger Minibus Driver on a 6-month contract, with the possibility of extension. Please submit your CV for consideration.

Compensation: Hourly Rate

Job Summary:

  • The Fleet Department is looking for Bank Drivers & Bank Passenger Assistants to provide coverage for our permanent staff's absences due to holidays, sickness, or other reasons.
  • Regular work is available, with the possibility of up to 25 hours per week, although this is not guaranteed. Full training will be provided, and we will supply uniform and allowances for equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • We are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate individuals to safely transport clients and pupils using council minibuses and tail lift equipped vehicles to and from various day centers, schools, and other establishments as required.
  • Our Fleet Transport team provides safe and efficient transportation for a range of residents, including older people, those with disabilities, and children with special needs. The service allows these individuals to access educational and day care facilities, contributing to Central Bedfordshire's quality of life.

Requirements:

  • For drivers, you will need a category D1 driving license, but previous experience is not necessary. However, you must be prepared to provide a caring and reliable service. You should be patient, understanding, and aware of issues surrounding disability, dementia, and special needs.

Important Notes:

  • You should be available to work immediately or at short notice.
  • You should have the right to work in the U.K.
  • This role requires an enhanced DBS.
