Job Introduction

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Category Manager to join our Procurement team based in Leeds. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic sourcing initiatives for various categories across Medical Protection Society, ensuring optimal supplier performance and driving cost savings through robust stakeholder management and negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end procurement processes for strategic tenders, ensuring compliance with MPS policies and procedures.
  • Support our Divisions in leveraging the capabilities of third parties, ensuring effective and robust supply chain due diligence and governance.
  • Contribute to cost savings targets, cost avoidance, and initiatives aligned to the Procurement Cost Drivers.
  • Maintain a strong culture of compliance across all procurement processes, challenging if required to ensure processes are followed across the business.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including C-Suite and Executive Board, taking a collaborative approach to ways of working and problem solving.
Requirements
  • Detailed knowledge of procurement practice, legislation, supplier, and contract management, including across a variety of categories.
  • Strong analytical skills and commercial acumen, with the ability to engage and challenge at all levels.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate the delivery of category strategies, with a strong background in procurement.
  • MCIPS qualification (desirable).
