Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Research Assistant to join our team at the University of Minnesota - Rochester (UMR). As a Laboratory Research Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting our research efforts by processing and handling biological specimens.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and handle biological specimens, including blood and urine samples, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Verify specimen identification and maintain accurate records.
  • Perform various clerical tasks, including data entry and supply inventory management.
  • Assist with laboratory maintenance and cleaning.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure smooth operation of the laboratory.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Currently enrolled at the University of Minnesota - Rochester (UMR).
  • Financial work study award of $2,700 for an academic year.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with laboratory software.
