About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to lead a multidisciplinary team of specialists across services in the Transport Department. As part of the senior management team, you will work closely with colleagues across Environment, Public Realm, Capital Projects, Highways, Parking, and the Economy departments.

The role is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of the transport, public realm, and climate change agendas. You will explore opportunities for pilot schemes and lead the way to achieve the Council's priorities while ensuring good governance, monitoring, quality assurance, and delivery.

The team will work to align priorities and build long-term relationships with strategic partners and key stakeholders to ensure the Council's ambitions and aspirations are realised.

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who can build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, and who is passionate about making a difference in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a multidisciplinary team of specialists across services
  • Work closely with colleagues across Environment, Public Realm, Capital Projects, Highways, Parking, and the Economy departments
  • Explore opportunities for pilot schemes and lead the way to achieve the Council's priorities
  • Ensure good governance, monitoring, quality assurance, and delivery
  • Build long-term relationships with strategic partners and key stakeholders
