Quantity Surveyor Job Description

Location: Bury St Edmunds - remote working available, with occasional travel to the office required.

Contract: Permanent - flexible and part-time hours available if desired, just let us know.

Salary: Up to £50,000 depending on experience.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be working within the UKPN team, supporting them in managing overall day-to-day commercial responsibility for the delivery of the works from inception to completion. Your key responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing assistance, guidance and support to the operational teams in the areas of Contract Compliance, financial impact of decisions, and project cost and value.
  • Accurately monitoring, forecasting and reporting project cost and value.
  • Assessing and paying sub-contract applications for payment in line with contractual, industry and business requirements.
  • Identifying change and supporting the Change Control procedures on the project.
  • Interrogating cost reports and interpreting financial data to reconcile cost and recognise value.

This role is ideal for you if you have:

Requirements:
  • A degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying.
  • Experience on NEC contracts, within the construction or civils industry, preferably framework civils/utilities contracts.
  • Familiarity with the CEMAR or UNIFIER contract portal.
