Job Title: Art and Design Technician

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and passionate Art and Design Technician for an immediate start at a vibrant secondary school in Wallasey. This is an exciting opportunity to support the art department and contribute to students' creative learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparing Materials and Equipment: Assist teachers in preparing materials and equipment for art lessons, including paints, clay, digital tools, and other resources.
  • Supporting Students: Support students during practical art and design projects, offering guidance with equipment and techniques.
  • Maintaining Art Supplies: Maintain and monitor art supplies, ensuring stock is replenished as needed.
  • Displaying Student Work: Assist in setting up displays of students' artwork around the school and for exhibitions or events.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure that health and safety regulations are followed in the classroom and studio spaces.
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the art department, including photocopying, organizing files, and managing resources.
  • Keeping Art Rooms Clean: Assist in keeping the art rooms clean, organized, and conducive to creativity.
Requirements:
  • Passion for Art and Design: A passion for art and design with a good working knowledge of materials, tools, and techniques used in secondary education.
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience in a school or art technician role is desirable, but not essential.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Communication Skills: Good communication skills and the ability to support both staff and students effectively.
  • Awareness of Health and Safety: Awareness of health and safety regulations in a school environment.
  • DBS Check: An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Teaching Personnel.
