About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant Lead to join our Operational Finance Team, reporting directly to the Financial Controller. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a small team of accountants, preparing annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, and reviewing monthly management accounts and statutory reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a small team of accountants, providing guidance and support to ensure the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports.
  • Act as the technical lead on accounting for Fixed and Leased Assets, ensuring compliance with IFRS and Group Financial Reporting Manual.
  • Prepare annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for Leased Assets, working closely with senior leadership to identify areas for improvement.
  • Review and prepare monthly management accounts, identifying trends and areas for optimization.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Fully Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA within a financial accounting background.
  • Experience in the retail industry, with large company experience in a centralised head office structure.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.

Salary

£50,000 - £70,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Estimated Salary Range: £65,000 - £74,250
