Automated Factory Technician

Resourcing Group is seeking an Automated Factory Technician to join their team in a leading automated factory. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining electrical plant equipment, improving efficiency, and reducing costs.

Responsibilities:

  • Erect and repair electrical installations and control systems throughout the factory.
  • Develop an understanding of machinery operation to diagnose and rectify faults efficiently.
  • Provide good communication to colleagues and production teams, and keep accurate records of maintenance work.
  • Work safely at all times and follow strict health and safety requirements.
  • Be actively involved in the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) improvement process.
  • Work tidily and make a positive contribution to the 5S system.

The role involves working with various electrical components, including sensors, motors, variable speed drives, contactors, relays, inverters, and PLCs. Experience with some of these is highly desirable.

Requirements:

  • Completed a recognised electrical engineering apprenticeship or hold an engineering Electrical qualification.
  • Knowledge of Siemens PLCs - S7 TIA Portal.
  • Knowledge of electric motors/pneumatics.
  • Experience working within a multi-skilled team.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal).
  • 17th/18th Edition qualified.
  • Experience of electrical maintenance engineering within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Friendly and adaptable working attitude, with a hunger to learn and progress.
  • Proactive work attitude and keen to get stuck in.

Salary: £45,000 - £47,000 per annum, plus overtime and opportunities to learn and develop.

Working Hours: 4 on - 4 off role, switching between days and night shifts 6 till 6.
