Job Summary:As a Teaching Assistant for SEN, you will work closely with students who have a range of special educational needs, providing vital support to ensure they can fully engage with their learning. You will assist teachers in creating an inclusive environment that meets the individual needs of students, contributing to their overall development and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide one-to-one and group support for students with SEN, including those with Autism, ADHD, and other learning difficulties.
- Assist teachers in planning and delivering tailored lessons that address the unique needs of each student.
- Help students develop social, emotional, and academic skills by implementing strategies that encourage participation and learning.
- Monitor and record student progress, offering feedback to both teachers and parents to support individual development.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and the SENCO to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel safe and valued.
- Assist in managing behaviour in line with school policies, promoting positive social interactions among students.
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN, preferably in an educational setting.
- A strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with special needs and strategies to support them.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
- Patience, empathy, and adaptability in working with students with varying needs.
- A valid DBS registered on the Update Service, or a willingness to apply for one.
