Job Description

This SEN Teaching Assistant role involves working with individual students or small groups, providing tailored support and assistance with academic and social development in a mainstream secondary school setting.

You will work closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to implement personalised learning plans, creating a nurturing and inclusive environment that supports the diverse needs of students with SEN.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing inclusive and personalised assistance to students with diverse learning needs.
  • Collaborating with the SENCO and teaching staff to implement tailored learning plans.
  • Fostering positive relationships with students, utilizing a range of strategies to facilitate learning.
  • Contributing to the monitoring and tracking of student progress.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a SEN support role or a strong interest in working with students with diverse learning needs.
  • A First Class degree from a reputable university, preferably in Psychology or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with students, staff, and parents.
  • A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine passion for making a positive impact on the lives of students with SEN.
