Electrical Estimator Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that all bids submitted conform to sign-off standards commensurate with the value and risk of any given project.
  • Analyze and summarize all tender and pricing opportunities generated throughout the EV & ICP Division.
  • Liaise with colleagues in Operations, Projects, and Commercial to structure the bid and ensure buy-in where required from delivery departments is sought and signed off.
  • Prepare pricing analysis showing build-up and source of costs of materials, labor, plant, and sub-contractors and any other project-specific bought-in costs.
  • Issue enquiries to sub-contractors and suppliers for pricing.
  • Develop and maintain a new schedule of rates covering all deliverables covering civils, electrical, rigging, I&C plant, and materials.
  • Produce internal project handover documents.
  • Monitor and update relevant project databases to ensure accuracy/data integrity.
  • Engage a culture of 'continuous improvement' and embrace the safety, health, environmental, and quality systems employed by Clarke Telecom.
  • Ensure all Company processes and policies are adhered to.
  • On successful projects, carry out post-tender reviews with the delivery team and carry out review of what was priced/budgeted versus what was installed.
  • On unsuccessful bids, carry out post-mortem to ensure that lessons are learned, and market intelligence is recorded.
  • Accurately maintain Tender tracker and provide data for monthly reports.

Requirements:

  • Expert knowledge of electrical engineering and construction, predominantly in the EV, electrical utilities sector, as well as telecoms.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and understanding of market prices.
  • High level of commercial acumen.
  • Excellent IT skills (MS Office, etc.).
  • Flexible, able to manage shifting priorities.
  • Role model: always acts with integrity, impartiality, and applies sound judgement, acting as a positive ambassador for the Clarke Telecom brand.
  • Presentation skills and Microsoft Office package competency.
  • Full command of the English language.
  • UK residence and work permit (we will not sponsor relocation or immigration for this position).
  • Demonstrates passion for high-quality work output and drive to achieve performance targets.
