About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Support Worker to join our team in the Paediatric Inpatient Services. As a Senior Healthcare Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our nursing staff in delivering excellent care to our young patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, maintaining the privacy and dignity of patients, while working alongside a registered Nurse to provide essential nursing care for paediatric patients.
  • Assist patients with daily living tasks, including washing, going to the toilet, and helping with meals.
  • Help with mobility needs and provide pressure area care.
  • Provide emotional support to patients and their families.
  • Take and record patients' vital signs, identifying and escalating changes to a patient's condition to the registered nurse.

Requirements

  • Level 3 qualification in Healthcare Support or equivalent experience.
  • Experience of working in a healthcare or social setting.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team and adapt to changing clinical demands.
