You'll be a vital part of our West Anglia team, playing a key role in the largest overhaul of the UK's electricity grid in generations. Our upgrade will ensure the grid is fit for the future, and you'll help make it happen by working on complex equipment like 275kV or 400kV circuit breakers, transformers, and cable systems.

Salary and Benefits

We offer an attractive salary package, including a starting salary of £36,774 per annum, plus a £4,500 London Allowance and a Seasonal Working Allowance of £1,794. This totals £42,068 per annum. In addition, you'll receive a Company commercial vehicle and fuel from home to work, 37 hours Monday to Friday, paid overtime, and a generous contributory pension scheme with double matching up to 12%.



Job Description

As a Mechanical and Electrical Fitter, you'll take on a wide range of duties on Substation plant and equipment. Your work will involve installation of new equipment, refurbishment and maintenance of existing equipment, fault investigation and repair, and routine condition monitoring. You'll benefit from our industry-leading training at our facilities in Eakring, Nottinghamshire, and other substation sites.



Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need a minimum Level 2/3 recognised apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical engineering, or an NVQ/Level 3 electrical or mechanical qualification with relevant fitting experience. You must also possess good all-round engineering skills, including working to Safety Procedures, Mechanical Fitting, Electrical Fitting, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Working at Height, Lifting Operations, Panel Wiring, and Fault Finding. A Full UK Driving Licence and basic computer skills are also essential.

Location and Travel

The ideal candidate will live within 30-45 minutes' travel of Stocking Pelham, Herts, SG9. Weekend work may be required, but overtime will be paid.
