About the Role

This vacancy is for a passionate and motivated Teaching Assistant who is willing to take part in a week of Level 2 Teaching Assistant training during the half term, before starting in November. The role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about education and eager to develop their skills in a supportive setting.

As a Level 2 Trainee Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the school's teaching staff and enhancing the learning experiences of all students. You will work closely with teachers to assist in delivering engaging lessons, managing classroom behaviour, and providing one-on-one support to students as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the classroom teacher in planning and delivering lessons, ensuring a smooth and productive learning environment.
  • Support students with their learning activities, both individually and in small groups, promoting social and academic development.
  • Help maintain a positive classroom environment conducive to learning, fostering a culture of respect and inclusivity.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teacher, identifying areas of strength and weakness.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as preparing resources and maintaining records, ensuring accurate and efficient documentation.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
  • Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities, enhancing your skills and knowledge in education and teaching support.
Requirements
  • A willingness to work towards Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, demonstrating a commitment to professional growth and development.
  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential, as relevant skills and qualities are highly valued.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate ideas and thoughts clearly and effectively.
  • A patient, caring demeanour with a genuine interest in helping children succeed, promoting a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, contributing to a positive and productive school culture.
