About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Inspector to join our team at L3Harris in Brighton. As a Mechanical Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting precision components from in-house manufacture/assembly, sub-contractors, and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect precision components using precision measuring equipment
  • Create and amend CMM programs using PC-DMIS software
  • Develop and maintain paperwork associated with inspection procedures
  • Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers as required
  • Source inspection of suppliers
  • Patrol inspection of manufacturing areas
  • Raise Non-conformance reports (NCR's) and dimensional reports
  • Calibration duties, including calibration of mechanical and electrical equipment

Requirements

  • A recognised Mechanical qualification and previous relevant experience of mechanical inspection
  • Experience and understanding of different inspection techniques
  • Experience in using precision measuring equipment
  • Good working knowledge and experience of ISO 9001:2001 and ideally AS9100 Rev D
  • Manufacturing experience (mechanical)
  • Ability to interpret Engineering Drawings
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawing tolerancing, including Geometric Tolerancing
  • CMM programming and operation, preferably with experience using PC-DMIS software
